sweet by nature, wild at heart
It’s baaaack! And we are so glad to have it! Cherry Almond was one of my FAVORITE conditioners way way way back when I first started with Aveda, more than 10 years ago now (I know, I know, I must have started with Aveda when I was 12). It smelled sooo good and conditioned my hair even better, but it didn’t last the test of time, as Aveda paved the way for even better conditioning technologies (I’m partial to the Damage Remedy line). But I never forgot the smell, and apparently, neither did Aveda. Because, bringing back Cherry Almond was something that Aveda fanatics had been requesting for years, and Aveda listened. They brought it back, and it’s even better than before.
In bringing the infamous aroma back, they also decided to make it a shampoo and a conditioner, with the added benefit of being a softening system. Not familiar with a softening shampoo and conditioner? Neither was I, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first brought it home to try. The lather in the shampoo is really luxurious, and you begin to experience the sweet, floral aroma as soon as you open the bottle. The sweet floral aroma is 100% naturally derived and contains 38 flower and plant essences inluding tonka bean, certified organic orange and ylang ylang. My hair was infused with a sweet, juicy aroma that lasted all day. I know because I obsessively sniffed at my hair all. day. LONG. Mmmmmm Cherry Almond. I’m in love.
Okay, enough about how good it smells (IT SMELLS SO GOOD!) Lets talk about how well it works. Organic babassu and coconut oil help deeply but gently cleanse the hair creating a healthy balance of natural lipids and oils, while naturally-derived cherry blossom oils, sweet almond oils and a powerful blend of omegas help to add serious shine and softness to your hair without weighing it down (even for finer hair types). Bonus? The whole line is 99% naturally derived, color safe, vegan, free of gluten, silicones, parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, and synthetic fragrances.
The conditioner has a silky, light consistency that packs a major punch of moisture without being heavy or greasy. Certified organic coconut oil and shea butter deeply condition and create a sleek, slippery finish for effortless detangling (works great on all hair types, especially long hair, or hair that is difficult to comb out). You will literally feel the difference in the first use, your hair will be incredibly soft, and weightlessly bouncy. And because it is free of silicones, your hair will actually BE softer, more supple, and hydrated, without being weighed down with synthetic ingredients.
Curly hair? YES, please!! This powerful botanical duo gave me the shiniest, bounciest, most hydrated natural curls. It was just enough moisture to keep my finished look frizz free (curly girls know what I mean), while not weighing down my extremely fine hair. I even used it as a co-wash, and I have to say I was very impressed. My curls were hydrated, voluminous, and soft.
Now if only they would make it in a body wash!
